Auld Lang Syne Needs More Crescendo and Legato

This is probably one of my all-time favorite songs. It brings back a lot of good memories, and that's what we do on New Years, right? (yes Mr. Critic, it does sound very similar to GSYBE!'s song 'Storm' from the first side of Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven)

Cheers and Happy New Years folks,

D.

Once, when the wife and I were driving back from your hometown, there was a major tornado warning that we didn't hear about because we weren't listening to the radio. Apparently all up and down that stretch of highway, tornadoes were touching down and raising merry hell. We didn't know, and at one point the wife asked if we shouldn't stop somewhere and get out of the terrible weather. Oh, no, I assured her. Just some heavy wind and rain, no worries.

While we drove, we were listening to GSYBE!'s "Storm" and if you ever find yourself in a comparable situation where the weather is all lightning and thunder and the gods warring in the heavens, I heartily recommend this cut as the soundtrack of choice.

If it had been a movie, it couldn't have been better cued. Crashing and smashing and with the pounding drums, the lightning ripped the night sky into tatters and the music just soaring and rumbling. It's one of those moments of musical-reality intersections as you were mentioning in an earlier posting. I can't, in fact, hear "Storm" anymore without a vision coming to my mind of a mega burst of lightning much like this one here.

And it was like that all night, for hours.
