For Valentine's Day this year we took a road trip to chilly Minnesota. We spent the night in historic Red Wing, where Dave showed me where he previously attended school, and we enjoyed the night at the St. James Hotel. And, we saw several bald eagles in the wild. (very cool)
The following day, we drove through beautiful countryside to see the Twin Cities. After a short viewing of St. Paul and Minneapolis, we headed to the Mall of America. Four roller coasters inside a mall seems a bit much, and besides neither of us could think of anything we wanted to purchase, nor do we really care for malls, so we ate lunch then headed north.
That evening we attended a fantastic acoustic Mason Jennings show. He performed at the Paramount Theater (a restored historical landmark) in St. Cloud, MN. It was the best show, he was truly fantastic, and has once again proven to me that one man, with an acoustic guitar is indeed the best show on earth.
Please check out Mason Jennings at : http://www.masonjennings.com/ when you get a chance, you will NOT be disappointed. He surprised us this time, with songs from his new album which neither of us have been thrilled with. They are recorded with electric guitar, and seem to lack something resembling soul.. but live, in acoustic, it was amazing. Thank you Mason for making our Valentine's Day perfect.
